This is the…TENTH product from The Simple Equine that we have reviewed over the last several years (crazy right?). I happened to fall in love with their products after first try…and become friends with the owner Tara through all these reviews (I swear I don’t let her awesomeness cloud my judgement when I do reviews). So when she comes out with something new…I have to buy it. So excited to try out the Simple Suds Shampoo that I grabbed it up and tried it in my short time riding that gray horse…Mr. Avatar. I figured nothing tested a shampoo more than using it on a gray.
As with all Simple Equine products, the bottle is great and the scent is lovely. The bottle doesn’t spray a whole lot at a time, so you do have to do a bit more trigger finger work than you might with other size bottles, but you also don’t get over spray…so I like it. As with the other products from this brand, the quality is top notch and the ingredients are safe to use on horse and human alike.
This is an interesting shampoo because it’s not detergent based. Because it’s not, it doesn’t have a lot of huge lather…and it also rinses clean in like an instant. Yay! For this bath, I hosed down Avatar, sprayed product all over him, scrubbed with a brush, and quick rinsed off. Easy!
Above you can see the leg on the right has been washed and the leg on the left hasn’t. One leg is nice and clean and white…the other yellow. So it does get off dirt nicely!I was super impressed with it’s ability to get out dirt easy and rinse clean fast. Not second pass rinses here. It didn’t get out some really set in stains, which I didn’t expect it to anyways, but did a good job getting fresh poo/pee/mud out of his coat.
I think it’s another excellent product from The Simple Equine and I highly recommend it!
