I learned about Rebecca Ray years ago while searching for awesome horsey things for a non-profit raffle/silent auction I was helping to organize. After emailing them, the non-profit was generously donated two bracelets from Rebecca Ray. I appreciated the company for being so awesome, however the price point was higher than I wanted to spend on something for myself (why buy an expensive bag I’ll never use when I can buy a new bridle right?).
Currently Rebecca Ray has a sale going on (discontinuing a few products), and I was thrilled to find something that I absolutely had to have. They created a beautiful official tote for the 141st Kentucky Derby and they were on super sale. I knew that not only would they be beautiful and handy to use, but they could end up a bit of a collectors item (as Derby 141 was won by our first Triple Crown winner since 1978). I bought two (one in each color).
After receiving the bags, I was first struck with the wonderful quality of materials and attention to detail that went into the bag. The leather and canvas were very high quality. The stitching was well done and the snaps very solid. We loved the design on the front and the logo for the Derby and Rebecca Ray on the back. We also loved that the black and purple bags had different colored leather for the handles to flatter the canvas color the most. Very well done. Even the Rebecca Ray tag was beautiful and had a lovely, lux texture that made the bag feel even more high end. We’ve already made use of this bag several times, and it is our new “carry to work at Golden Gate Fields” bag (and we have gotten comments on it from men!).
If you are looking for a sturdy, attractive and conversation starting bag, look no further than Rebecca Ray. We wish we had more money to spend to buy a weekender style bag from them!
You can still buy the Kentucky Derby Tote here. There’s also a Kentucky Oaks version available, if you prefer the ladies (or pink).
