We all know the struggle of that gilley monster, mud caked, what in the world did you roll in dog in our lives. Our review team member Gio is never far from a potential disaster, and spends most of his days in the trenches of the farm work (Literally).
I was concerned about a “coat” option for him, as he is a high drive Shepherd with the typical double coat, and overheating is a big concern. I was VERY impressed with the Torrent Coat from Hurtta, as it is lightweight, durable and comfortable for him to work in. It reminds me of a rain sheet for his equine counterparts, light and effective.
What I loved most about this coat was the design. It is easy to apply, with a full chest closure and a wrap around belly band. The two straps hug the abdomen and secure around with the buckle at the top. That was a lifesaver! There is minimal risk of snags and damage with the straps and buckle on top instead of over the rib-cage. I also loved the extra coverage around the neck of the coat, all around the design was meant for active and working dogs!
We were also impressed with the visibility of the 3M reflective piping and markers on the Torrent. Gio reviewed the black color option and even in the dark we could easily visualize him while on equipment and working in the dark.
Overall this coat is an amazing option for keeping dogs clean and dry, while not compromising body temperature and comfort!
