New brand alert!  I was thrilled to hear about the launch of the new equestrian riding clothing brand Thiandro Equestrian a few months ago.  I was super excited about this shirt from first glance on social media.  I feel very thankful for Holly reaching out and sending a couple of things my way to try.  I’ll be reviewing the tights in a few weeks, but today is dedicated to this beauty – the Azure Rose Garden Essential Base Layer.

This shirt was the stand out in the collection to me upon first glance…and it didn’t disappoint on arrival.  I love prints…especially floral prints…and the scale of this one with the cool combo of the blues and greens is really unique and pretty.  I was so excited to wear it.  I’ve now worn it and washed it a few times and here are my thoughts.

Style wise, I love it.  It’s such a pretty print and unique color combo, especially for a winter release (which I love).  The fit is quite nice.  It’s not too tight/form fitting, but it’s not too boxy either.  It’s a pretty, flattering cut.  I appreciate that the collar isn’t too tight (because that can be uncomfortable and also keep shirts from breathing well) and the zipper color matches the shirt color perfectly and doesn’t distract from the print.  I also appreciate that the branding is subtle and doesn’t distract or take away from the print.  It’s just a small logo on the sleeve.

The fabric is a heavier weight (but not TOO heavy a weight…it’s considered a “medium weight”) so it’s a great base layer for winter.  Here in Northern California it has kept me from having to wear too many layers, which I appreciate.  It is very comfortable when riding and I don’t get too hot in it when working so it performs really well as a piece of athletic wear.  The fabric is SUPER soft and cozy (one of the softest shirts in my riding closet actually) and very stretchy so no feeling confined or unable to move to my full range.  Super fabric choice.  I hope she comes out with more prints soon so I can buy a few more!

Quality-wise, I have no issues to this point.  The sewing, fabric and zipper are all great.  It’s washed extremely well and dries faster that I would have expected for a heavier weight shirt.  The price is beyond reasonable (in fact it appears to be on sale for $46 right now…yes…under $50 in insane in this currently economy…so go grab one while you can.

Thiandro Equestrian is inclusive with their sizing going from XS to 3XL with UPF 50.  I also want to give props to the brand for being very forward thinking – the fabric is sustainable made from recycled materials!   Seriously very cool.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what else the brand has in store for us in the near future!  Great item for a first launch of Thiandro Equestrian!  It’s rare I have NO feedback to give…but here’s one!  I love this shirt. *round of applause*
