Of course I go to write this review and this particular shirt from Dancing Equestrian is now gone from their website (was up as of a few days ago)…sorry about that guys…but the review still goes (as they still have other products that I’m sure are great too).  This brand is localish to me and I found them at a horse show tent earlier this year.

I was immediately sold on this color…I mean.  Come on.  There should be everything in this color.  I want breeches this color (any brand want to make some for me? Pretty Please?).  Anyways.  I wasn’t super thrilled when I bought it that it was a heavier base layer, being in California you only wear this weight of shirt for a few months at best.  This year however, turns out, is COLD.  Cold for us.  I mean…the high for us over the next 10 days is 55.  The low…32 (and it’s in the 30s every night).  For us that’s freezing…so I’ve been grabbing heavier shirts to go to the barn this winter and I’m glad I have this one.

As mentioned, it’s a heavier weight so certainly not for 90 degree summer days.  It performs well and I have no issues riding in it.  I get no stinkier than I do in any other shirt.  It keeps me a little warmer on cold days, and a few days ago I was able to wear it while riding without a vest or jacket (which I prefer as I typically get annoyed by layers while riding).  For those reasons, it was worth buying.

The fit is not super, but it’s not bad either.  It’s not got a lot of structure to it and fits pretty similarly to most of the boxier, stretch shirts you can get.  I don’t feel any restriction, but it’s also not a super flattering cut.

Already missing bling when I bought it. No worries.

Aesthetically, it is beautiful. As mentioned…this color is just everything to me.  I love it.  I also LOVE the zipper (can we have more zippers like this brands?).  It’s just so fun.  So far the bling has stayed in place even washing it in the washing machine a half a dozen times.  The shirt I bought had some missing already when I bought it (probably why it was on discount when I bought it).  I honestly don’t expect the bling to hold up…this kind of glue on stuff never does…and I won’t mind that.  It’s not necessary.  So far I haven’t had any issues with staining or snagging, so it’s holding up well so I think the quality is pretty good.

For what I paid for it, it was well worth it.  For the regular price, I’m not sure.  I’d probably be more likely to go with something like the Equestrian Stockholm Vision tops (which are a little cheaper) and have a lot more options for colors.

All in all I quite like the shirt and would purchase from Dancing Equestrian again if anything else caught my eye (so far it hasn’t though, but not every style is for every person).
