Please Note:  I can no longer recommend the Cavali Club subscription box based on what owner brand Corro has recently done to it.  Past boxes were wonderful, but be aware it’s not the same as it once was (I can’t vouch for customer service, quality or uniqueness of products, or timely shipping).

It’s that time again! This box is still available (and I think it is the best box yet), so if you’re interested head over to Cavali Club and order your summer box!

Individual Item Thoughts

Cavali Club Summer 2022 Review

Equine Shine Bathing Tool – Oh Yay!  I was looking forward to using this for the pre-horse show bath this past weekend…but the box didn’t show up…and then it ended up being 55 degrees and raining…so no bath happened.  Whatever!  I’m super excited to use this the second it warms up again.  I love bath gizmos.  I love my EZ Wash Wand…and this one might be even cooler!  Looking forward to it.  It has all these different adjustments on it and I’m just excited.  Some of it is fairly cheap plastic, so I hope it holds up to a drop or two…because that always happens.  Excited to try this one.

Kensington Protective Products Safe-T-Tie – these are GREAT.  I don’t use them with Jax because he’s a genius Houdini and will get out of any safety product…Hard tie only for him.  LOL.  But I used these with Spice for years and with many other horses.  They’re fantastic! Great product to have on hand for almost anyone.  They’ll be going in my kit for future use with a future horse.

Dapplebay Co. Horse Show Blanket – This was the showstopper for me this round…and probably most people.  I love Dapplebay…so there’s that…and I remember watching a video of Leah working on this print like…a year ago and being excited about whatever it might be.  So I love to see it show up in here.  I can ALWAYS use a blanket like this for showing…for picnics with my daughter…for emergency coverage in the cold.  And it’s cute. It has a great fold up / securing design with a handle (which is wonderful, thanks Leah) and the material is water resistant and sturdy.  I also see this being useful as a seat cover or a trunk floor cover when you’re moving hay or other messy stuff.  Really good product.

The Equestrian Journal – this is a rehash of a previous item in the box.  There’s been some minor redesign inside, but mostly it’s exactly the same functionally.  It is a full 1 year journal.  The outside is a bit different with a laminated cover for water resistance and a heavier duty binding spiral.  It might be a hair heavier.  Overall the quality has gone up a bit from the last round, so I appreciate that.  I might be more willing to stomach the price for the quality of this journal over the old one.  I personally like the styling of the art on this one a little more than the other one so that helps too.  I now have three of these that are unused…because I’ve been using another brand’s journals…but eventually I’ll break into these…or sell them…or do a giveaway.  Lol.  I like them, they’re just more specific to a horse owner than a leaser with all the vet/shoeing/insurance type information inside.

Quick Knot Delux – These I was SO excited about…and then they show up 2 days after what is probably my last show for the year.  So that’s a bummer.  FedEx sucks right now is all I have to say.  I’ll use these eventually, and look forward to it. Perhaps these will be a new go-to rather than sew ins.  We shall see!

Heart Horse Photo Frame – This is beautiful.  I do think the retail value on this one is perhaps a little more than I’d want to spend (similar frames from Arthur Court or Vagabond House are in the $50 range).  However the closest design-wise is from Beatriz Ball, and it’s over $150…which…I’ll just leave that there with no comment.  Ha!  Anyways…this frame is gorgeous and I’ll for sure be using it.  And with the beautiful box, it would also make a lovely gift.  I love that this is in the box and it really rounded the box out for me.

Sprenger Flexdry – not the most exciting item in the box, but I will 100% use this…just not right now.  Summer is dry season in California and there’s no moisture to soak up…but come winter this baby is being popped open in my tack trunk.  It is much more reasonably sized from my giant Damp Rid containers.  If it works well, I’ll be seeing where I can buy some more.

Overall Thoughts

This box curation is very good this time.  Excellent really.  With useful items for the horse, useful items to have in your trailer or trunk, and nice stuff for the rider this box is really quite balanced this time.  The Summer 2022 box delivers excellent value and excellent usefulness of items (I will use at least 6 out of the 7 items).  Add in the excitement for me of 4 of the 7 items (like…I really wanted them) and this box is probably the best Cavali Club box there has been.  I am beyond excited and looking forward to what they come up with next…however I’m also slightly sad and worried that they may not ever be able to top this box.  My only issue is that shipping has become a problem the last several boxes.  It took two and a half weeks to get my box this time (with about 5 days showing an error and no movement).  I wasn’t sure it would arrive at all to be honest.  It showed up a week later than initially scheduled.  Last box I had a similar problem with it sitting in Kansas for a solid week for not particular reason.  Before they moved their warehouse to Texas, I’d get this in maybe 3 days…so that’s been unfortunate.  Especially seeing as I do a review every box and seem to be one of the last people to get it the last several boxes.  It’s a bummer…but what can you do.  I do wish they would consider another shipping option at this point if FedEx is going to continue to suck.  It’s not going to get me to cancel the box…but it certainly keeps the experience from being 100% the best!
