Most of us dog owners know that finding the right product to aid in healing and promoting recovery from an injury, surgical procedure, or health condition can be overwhelming. There are a LOT of products that may or may not work for different breeds, injuries, and activity levels. With six dogs on our ranch, we have tried SEVERAL products in the last few years. The Benefab Canine Comfort Suit has been a game changer. We have applied the suit to aid in everyday discomfort, recovery from injuries and most recently for the recovery of youngest dog on the ranch, Holley.
I was struggling to find a product that would apply compression for anxiety and comfort, while providing therapeutic properties that would aid in healing, and protection all at the same time for the REAR legs. Holley had the TPLO surgical procedure to stabilize her torn CCL, and the incision is on the inside of the knee. Trying to find a product that did all of the above seemed impossible until I found the Benefab Comfort Suit.
This suit fit true to size, we followed the sizing chart included on the Benefab website and it was perfect. The fabric is light, durable, and moisture wicking. Holley was comfortable at rest or walking while in recovery. Her surgical procedure was in a wet month for us here in Ohio, so we did roll the leg “sleeves” up to prevent excess moisture from the grass getting on the suit. If you have a thicker dog with shorter legs, you may need to roll the leg sleeves for the right “fit.” It still did get some moisture on the leg sleeves, but it dried fairly quickly. We did have to wash the suit 3-4 times during her recovery period and I did wash on COLD, air dry per the instructions, and to get the excess hair off of the suit I used a lint roller when needed. Even after washing the suit held its color, velcro stickiness and shape. I always worry when washing items like the comfort suit but it washed and dried VERY well!
