Have you shopped with Corro yet?  I stumbled upon them earlier in the year (via Google) and made a small order on something I’d been looking for but had trouble finding in stock for my clippers.  We’re all having that problem right now right?  Finding something in stock is just…out of control.  I’ve been waiting on a pair of reins for two months now and…well…that’s another story (and not from Corro).  My first experience with them was good, but I didn’t really pay much attention as it was a “I need this now and I don’t care who it comes from or how much I have to pay,” moment.

Well, Corro reached out to me a few weeks ago about doing an article for them sharing my shopping experience on their website and I thought…”This sounds fun!  Let’s do it!”  Thank you Corro for thinking of us, sending us some Corro goodies and supporting the website.  Without the amazing brands we feature, keeping this website going would be cost prohibitive!

So how was my shopping experience with Corro?  In short, it was great!  There two big things that make them really stand out.

1. Their new house wares line is just beyond.  There’s like…hundreds of dollars of things I want in that category and new stuff added regularly.  Sure…that may not be important for some of you…but for a website selling horse care items often there’s not a lot in the way of gifts.  Some of these would make EXCELLENT gifts for trainers and barn friends.  Their gorgeous boot bag is really something else too.  If I hadn’t just invested in a bunch of custom bags…  Excited to see what other really special items they start selling in the future.

2. Corro actually carries what I want and need for around the barn.  I don’t have to shop three different websites or tack stores to get the brands I want.  They’ve done a great job curating the products they sell.  As you might guess from all the hundreds of reviews, I’m pretty picky about my products and I’m not always in love with the big brands.  I have a number of favorites I’ve grown accustomed to using over the years and there’s really only one horse care brand that I’m in love with that sells via retailers isn’t on Corro (remind me to tell them to carry them!).  I typically have to shop several different retailers to get all the items I want for basic maintenance.  The even carry both supplements I happen to feed Jax.

Their tack section could use some more developing (for instance…those reins I’m waiting for aren’t available…not just the brand…but the type completely).  They do seem to be constantly updating the website and adding more brands (and I’ve noticed new additions in the last month or so), so I’m sure that the areas they carry less of will eventually fill out.  Their goal is to carry only the best products, so I’m certain that ensuring that is quite the feat and takes some time to hash out!

 

Now onto the shopping experience…

The website is super easy to navigate for the most part (though I find the blue navigation bar on the left a little buggy to use, but the top menu drop downs work great).  It is easy to find what you need and the obvious search bar helps narrow down specific products fast.  They do price matching as well, so send them an email if you see a better price anywhere else!  They also almost always have some sort of promo or coupon going so you can get extra value out of your order too.

Value.  Speaking of extra value, they also have a rewards program for shopping with them.  You get access to reward program sales just for signing up.  You can exchange points for discounts and if you bump into the higher tiers, you get access to longer return windows and special discounts.   With the coupons offered and the already excellent prices…there’s some real value to be had here.  I happened to have a $25 off your order over $100 coupon which was AWESOME…and I think that was just for signing up for the rewards program (but I’m not sure).  Also TIP:  if you sign up for an account, they save your cart for you which is great if you get a call in the middle of shopping and completely forget about it for a few days.

Shipping. The shipping is also great (unless you’re in Alaska or Hawaii…but you guys are used to having to pay more for shipping).  They are currently offering free shipping on all orders over $49 in the contiguous US …no matter the size or weight of the package.  On top of that shipping is only $7.95 under $49…no matter the size or weight.  No overweight charges.  Excellent!  They also shipped out my order almost immediately!  Unfortunately FedEx decided it was a good idea to lose this box…but my first order with them got to me very fast…within just a couple of days. If they hadn’t lost the box, it would have been to me in just 4 days.

On the note of lost packages…I was terrified for my purchases (thankfully Corro would replace anything damaged) since half of the things I ordered had fluid in them…and in boxes that go missing on tracking that usually indicated the box has busted and the shipper doesn’t want to deal with it.   However not the case!  Corro packed all of my items with such care for padding/leaking that nothing was amiss in my package at all, even disappearing into the FedEx black hole for a week.

Other bonus programs. They also have a handy subscription service that is really easy to use and a great program where you can shop for Compton Cowboys along with your order to give back to the community. So go for a shop for yourself and throw an extra item or two in your cart from their list and Corro will handle shipping to them separate from your order.  Easy and helps you give back!  I love this.   I did learn that the organization being helped does change occasionally, but Compton Cowboys is going to be featured through the end of the year, so head over and donate if you feel that is something you’d like to do!

For those review reading obsessed out there (like me) Top Rated Articles are like a maximized version of our reviews with several different big name trainers giving their opinions on products (not that we always agree with them…but products are personal).  But those articles are very helpful for seeing different opinions and seeing if there’s any consistent issues or strengths noted between the different riders.

Conclusion

Other than the shipping issue (which had nothing to do with Corro), my shopping experience with them was excellent. It was fast, convenient, easy to get what I want, everything arrived in great shape and customer service was excellent!  I will be shopping at Corro going forward for most of my barn needs (and hopefully eventually all once they add more product lines)!
