I ended up with a candle from Interest Candles after winning one as a prize in a show in January (the Halt one below). I loved the relaxing and meditative scent so much I went out and bought myself two more! Then a few months later, I learned that the owner is local and we run in the same local dressage circles! Funny that!
While a little outside of my typical range of reviews, being home so much during this last year I have been placing a lot more importance on sprucing up my space and taking care of myself. I’ve always loved candles…so equestrian themed ones are all the better. While the Halt one was my first introduction to the brand, it’s not my favorite one! The twist off jar is handy for traveling and will be easy to reuse, but style-wise…the next two candles take the win!
My favorite right now is Whip & Spur. The scent is completely gorgeous, sophisticated and unique. It’s both masculine and feminine at the same time. It is pretty well perfection in a scent. I love it. I absolutely love the heavy duty rich brown candle jar. It feels and looks VERY expensive. The classically styled label is beautiful and suits my vintage home perfectly. So far it has burned very even and clearly will last for a long time burning (90 hours advertised). I’m in love.
Similar to Whip & Spur in all but color and scent is High Point. Same gorgeous jar (but black). Same excellent candle burning experience. Same beautifully designed label. This one has a refreshing citrus scent that smells fabulous, but doesn’t in my mind equate to the packaging. With the black, I expected something a little more complex, but I still really like it.
On top of the beautiful candles themselves, they are packaged in beautiful heavy duty gifting type boxes. I loved the boxes so much, I removed the labels and I am in the process of doing some decorative things to them to reuse for the house. The shipping was super fast and the packaging environmentally conscious and well packed. I’m looking forward to ordering from her again in the future!
