Every 4 years horsemen around the world are lucky to get to witness a convergence of the greatest riders in the world. No…I am not talking about the Olympics which has such a limited scope and eliminates so many equestrian disciplines. I am talking about the FEI’s World Equestrian Games.
From August 23rd to September 7th, 2014 we can all tune in and watch the competition from Normandy, France. There’s something for everyone. It’s a huge event pulling in hundreds of horses and riders from 74 countries. There should be lots of excitement and lots to see.
There’s the Olympic sports of Jumping, Dressage, Para-Dressage and Eventing. There’s also the less publicized equestrian sports of Vaulting, Reining, Driving and Endurance. There’s also the exhibition sports of Polo and Horse Ball. Whatever your own personal riding abilities and disciplines there is something that each equestrian can enjoy.
If you’re so inclined, you can subscribe to FEITV to watch the games live. The subscription fee is $15 a month or $80 a year. $15 is a great deal to watch 2 weeks of the best competition you’ll see all year.
