Are you looking for a fun read? Are you an equestrian?  Have you ever had a bad date (or many)?  Have you ever thought “It would be so much easier if I could just marry my horse?”  If the answer to any of those questions is yes (and being a horse person isn’t required!)…add this book to your Amazon cart immediately.

As an equestrian blogger, I was so excited when I heard a fellow blogger was publishing a memoir.  I ordered a copy of Susan Friedland-Smith’s (Saddle Seeks Horse) new book Horses Adored and Men Endured: A Memoir of Falling and Getting Back Up, and after it arrived a few days later I did nothing but read it in my spare time until I finished.

This book is a hell of a lot of fun and most of us can relate to both the love affair with horses and difficulties with dating.  It is an easy-read page turner filled with lots of laughs, a few groans and several “OMG I cannot believe that actually happened to someone” moments.  I found myself cheering on a few relationships and shaking my head and wanting to punch some of the others.  Handsome foreigners and classic American men…the good and the bad…the sweet and the sour…this book has it all.  And then of course there are the relationships with the horses, which blessedly can keep us sane through the most painful of human interactions.  This book would be a great basis for a TV show…

Does Susan get her happy ending?  Well you’ll have to pick up the book to find out.  I highly recommend this book if you’re in the mood for something fun and at times a bit outrageous.
