I found the coolest tool on Amazon recently and thought it was cool enough to share it with all of you!  This little block doesn’t look like much, but it makes laundry so much better.  If you have a horse…or even a dog…this thing is going to keep excess hair out of your washing machine (and therefore keep it running better longer)!

Even though I use a shared laundry facility (yeah…poor other people in my apartment building)…I pay attention to what I’m washing.  I may wash some things other people wouldn’t be too keen about like saddle pads, coolers and fly sheets…but I try to make sure everything is reasonably clean before it goes in the laundry…and that includes hair removal.  Up until I found this block…that was a bitch.

With this block, I can de-fur a saddle pad in about 3 minutes.  All you do is scrape it along the fabric and the hair comes with it.  Think of it like sweeping your saddle pad with a tiny hand sized broom (or squeegeeing your shower door).  I haven’t tried it on anything else yet, but it’s supposed to work well on upholstered furniture, pet beds, rugs/carpet and car seats!  I can see that being super handy for those of you with barn dogs (or cats!).  Look how much hair it got out of three saddle pads!!!  That’s a lot of hair that would have otherwise gotten into the washing machine.

There’s several different versions of this block on Amazon, but I ordered the Japanese version since that’s where the product originated.  I can’t vouch for the awesomeness of the US-based versions, but if you use one of those successfully…let me know!
