The Bay Area has been blessed by the equestrian gods.  As I wrote about previously, we got a Dover Saddlery shop in Moraga, CA last month.  I have to admit…I’ve been there probably 10 times since.

I have bought stuff, returned stuff, returned something ordered online, discussed ordering something from the catalog from the store, been fit for a saddle, been measured for boots, and went back again to discuss Champ’s wither tracing for saddles.  I even took my grandmother-in-law their for Christmas shopping.

Everyone at Dover has been a good sport so far.  There have been a few moments of “the sales associate knows less than I do about this,” but for the most part, the experiences have been great.

Thanks to Lark, I have ended up with a pair of Dublin River Boots that are my absolute new favorite thing in the world (and they fit perfectly).  Also thanks to Lark, I will likely be purchasing a Custom Saddlery saddle in January or February. *happy dance*

While they don’t have the greatest selection (and yes…you may be laughed at if you want winter boots in the “warm” state of California), they are happy to order you something from the catalog that you need (and take things back from the website or catalog you need to return).  They really do want you to be 100% happy with your purchase and stick to that guarantee.

The store is beautifully laid out and organized and it is a visual treat just to walk in the door.  In particular I love the “wall o’halters” and the beautiful feature hangers for bridles.

If you haven’t’ made it into Dover Saddlery in Moraga yet, you’re missing out!
