In the Bay Area we have quite a few very nice tack and feed stores. As of Friday this week, there will be another. Dover Saddlery (yes…THE Dover) is opening a new location in Moraga. I have been excited about this since I heard about the store opening months ago and even considered applying for a job there just to be around all of that brand new leather smell!
This is great news for local equestrians because it will give better access to items we need. It’s less good news for some local shops that have been around for decades, however Dover’s more broad range of stock should fill in some holes that have been lacking in local tack shops for many years. I know that I will continue to shop and support some of my favorites that have been here forever (especially for our Western needs), but I’ll be supporting and shopping at Dover too.
Another local spot to celebrate our horse loving community is fantastic and having a Dover confirms what most of us have known for a while…we have a big, strong equestrian community here. I cannot wait to check out the new shop later this week. Hope to see you there!
