Leather Therapy Saddle Pad and Blanket Wash is one of the few equestrian laundry solutions on the market.  I have been using this for a few years and thought I’d share my thoughts and review this handy product.

This laundry concentrate is created especially to clean horse blankets and saddle pads.  It was developed to break down dirt, grime and eliminate contaminants while being safe for sensitive equine skin.  It claims to also eliminate odors and brighten colors and work well on hi-tech and waterproof fabrics found in sheets, saddle pads, blankets, protective boots and leg wraps.   It can also be used on grooming brushes, but I have never used it for that.

I like Leather Therapy Saddle Pad and Blanket Wash and I do think it does a noble job of deep cleaning heavily soiled fabrics and eliminating the horsey odor that is so hard to erase.  It has not damaged any fabrics I have used it on, however I do not see any color brightening effects from this soap.  I have purchased this several times, and plan to purchase it again in the future.  It does a good job for it’s intended use and I recommend it.  It’s a little pricey…but most products made for horses are.

My only issue is that there are not markings on the bottle to indicate oz. levels so that I can accurately pour in the correct amount each time.   I would also like it more if it included the sanitizing benefits of the Saddle Pad and Blanket Rinse all in one step.
