I have been on the look out for cool belts for some time, and I finally found the perfect ones. Here’s a review of one of my new favorite companies, MangoBay Designs.
I had seen MangoBay Designs belts online decided to try one of their products. After looking at their designs and fantastic color combinations I narrowed down to two belts (from about 10 I wanted). Their ordering system is quick and easy and the shipping was fairly quick as well. My only note on ordering is that you should put some thought into your choice of size. If you tend to be smaller waisted and larger hipped, you probably can go down a size from the size suggestions and have less tail on the belts. I found I had more tail than we needed ordering the Long both on low rise and high waist breeches. I recommend doing some measuring of the length you need in your schooling breeches to order the best size and not have too much tail.
When the belts arrived I was probably a little too excited. The belts came packaged together in tissue paper secured by a sticker. The packaging makes it look special, like a gift. I appreciated that little extra effort.
The belts themselves did not disappoint. The metal rings are solid and high quality. I loved that each belt had a different metal finish (I didn’t notice this when I ordered them). The quality of the stitching is solid and sturdy and the webbed material is of good, strong quality. These belts worked on a variety of breech types and loop sizes without issue and I love the custom fit this type of belt gives on wearing various rises. They do not stain or get dirty easily and my phone case doesn’t seem to be damaging the webbing even a bit.
The designs from MangoBay are incredibly beautiful and eye catching and I have received tons of compliments. It is clear a lot of effort and thoughtfulness went into the creation of of the designs of these belts. Recently re-visiting MangoBay’s page I saw several new design and color combinations that weren’t available before that I just need to have!
