C.O. Bigelow Mentha Body Wash
This review is a little different from other products I have reviewed in the past. I usually review products that are specifically marketed to equestrians, however there are plenty of products that I have found to be a blessing as barn rat and I feel I should share them with you.
Between dust, dirt, mud, hay (allergies!), hair and dander… I regularly come home smelling lovely and covered in all sorts of wonderful stuff. In the summer I am hot, sweaty and often chafed. In the winter I come home with dull, dry and irritated skin. Because of allergies, there’s often itchy eyes, nose and skin. It is the way it is, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
This shower gel has been a godsend. It actually cleans and rids me of the “barn smell” that pleases few noses. It leaves the skin supple and smooth and isn’t overly drying like many gels can be. The scent is lovely and the peppermint oil seems to permeate the steam and makes the whole bathroom smell amazing and fresh. That helps sooth irritated eyes and sinuses. There is a subtle tingle on the skin (or not so subtle…depending on where you put it…I wouldn’t recommend using it after you shave your armpits for instance). It is cooling and refreshing which is perfect in the summer months. It also is nice and invigorating for cold winter mornings when you need a little pick me up.
I highly recommend you give this stuff a try. I love it, and at $12 a bottle, it’s really one of the cheapest things you’ll buy as an equestrian. If you don’t like it, you can send it to me and I’ll use it up for you.
Happy New Year to each of you! Happier, healthier riders equals happier, healthier horses.
