Prepping for a show this weekend (eeek!) and for Derby's 5th birthday (and a lot of people coming to visit or stay) and feeling a touch overwhelmed. HOWEVER! I had to get out this review I've been working on for the last few weeks...because you might just need this shirt. 😉 Another super product from @maybabesequestrian ! I know I've been a little quiet lately. There's been so much going on. I thought I would share a little bit about what's going on with us. Jax is all healed up and we are back in full work and things are going pretty well. We are going to show 4th level test 2 in a couple of weeks as well as a 3rd level freestyle! So excited to move up with him to 4th!

We had a bit of a rough clinic last week, but we've been doing all of our homework and the things we really struggled with on that day have gotten a lot better. So while it was a rough day, it was definitely worth doing and I got some good exercises and tools to use moving forward.

Jax is an interesting one. He is very smart and and a bit of a know it all. He thinks that he knows exactly what he's supposed to be doing even when it's not what I want him to be doing. So we have to work on that some more. More but that's just always going to be his personality. Some days he's going to be there with me and he's going to listen and other days he's going to try and take over. It's just trying to find the right balance with him.

On the other side of things I have been trying out a whole bunch of new stuff from various brands and I am loving all of it which is amazing. I adore this new print from @kasteldenmark . I am definitely going to end up buying the lilac version as well. It is just so sophisticated! I have been pairing it with the new higher rise breeches from @r.j.classics in Grape Shake which is a super pretty look for spring. We rocked them both for our clinic last week.

It's been a strange week this week for more than o

It's been a strange week this week for more than one reason. If you saw my story the other day, Jax injured himself early in the week and that has added some uncertainty and sadness to the week. A vet visit later, and she thinks he just really wacked his head hard on something. No riding for a while because it's right under where his bridle sits behind his eye. Thanks to @healthyhorsemassage for the laser today. That plus the Surpass hopefully will do the trick. Think good thoughts for the big guy. <3

We are going to likely miss the virtual schooling show we were trying to do with @cdseastbay , but hoping that he's going to be good to go for our next show at the end of April.

Painting painting! I got some new paper, new pencils and new watercolors in lately to motivate myself to carve out some free time to create rather than just working or being mom all the time!

I am enjoying it so much some days I would rather stay home and paint or draw than go to the barn...but it hasn't gotten to that extreme yet. Partly is because I am ready for more sunshine and spring. It has been so gloomy around here lately.
